Greetings,Saturday proved to be a potent lesson in trusting Spirit with thousands gathering on the phone for our Solstice Call after 17,500 had registered. Of the six Grandmothers who had confirmed their presence for this first Council, four were waylaid at the last minute – international calling difficulties or situations that required their attention. Only Grandmother Flordemayo and Grandmother Rita Long Visitor, plus Jyoti, the group’s convener, were able to make it live. So while we had a smaller number of the “official” Grandmothers, what it called for us to do was widen the circle and include the voices of some of the hundreds of other Grandmothers on the call – which turned out to be quite a blessing! The prayers offered from around the world were intimate, healing, and powerful as a complement to the beautiful offerings from Jyoti, Grandmother Flordemayo and Grandmother Rita. Opt Out from the Grandmothers’ List I feel very clear that the work of the Indigenous Grandmothers – and the restoration of the “voice” of grandmothers everywhere – is a key part of the cultural healing and balancing that are core to the Shift. I look forward to doing more in the future to support and showcase their important work. We’ve discussed making the Virtual Council a quarterly event, and we’ll keep you in the loop as that develops. More generally, we learned from the event how powerful it is to come together in a prayerful way with thousands from around the world and we look forward to doing more of that soon.
