LW3 at Indian Pines July 2-4. AIS potluck on July 3rd

Longest Walk 3 at Indian Pines July 2nd – July 4th. American Indian Society of Washington, DC (AIS) will host a Pot luck July 3rd.

Longest Walk 3 San Diego to Washington, D.C, will be at Indian Pines July 2nd – July 4th.

LW3 Mission statement: To raise the awareness of the effects of Diabetes in our communities & villages.

Walkers have sacrificed their time crossing the country (over 4000 miles) to bring the message of Reversing Diabetes to the attention of everyone, not just Indian people. This diabetes destruction knows no cultural or color barriers. THEY NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOW!

  • URGENT! Volunteers for southern Virginia
  • Emporia to Richmond area along or near the I-95 or Rt. 301 corridor
  • Support for this section of the walk is needed ASAP
  • Food / water
  • Support vehicles and or gas.

Virginia schedule:

July 2nd Arriving on Rt.301, Skippers / Emporia area.
A site in the Skippers, Emporia Area is needed for this Welcoming
A light breakfast (Restaurant or like venue could receive Tax deductable contribution)
Food and water are always needed
Gas, support vehicles to move walkers onto Indian Pines, Ruther Glenn, Va.
Any donation that would move the walkers would be greatly appreciated.

July 2nd., July 3rd. and JULY 4th. American Indian Society grounds at Indian Pines,25401 Reservation Lane, Ruther Glenn, Va. 22546 3 days of rest and sharing. Preperations for Diabetes Summit. Feel free to stop by and visit with the walkers.

AIS will host a has arranged for a potluck dinner on Sunday July 3rd. Please stop by with a dish to share and visit with the walkers.
Everyone is welcome to join us at Indian Pines (directions are available on the AIS website at aisdc.org) on any of the days the walk will be with the AIS. During their stay at Indian Pines the walkers will be preparing for the Diabetes Summit to be held at the end of the walk.
They would like to hear from anyone and everyone who would like to join in the discussions and express their thoughts on ways we can live better lives as Diabetics.

The Indigenous Womens Circle will be holding a pot luck for the walkers on July 2nd.
